What if my swimmer misses his/her event?

  • If a swimmer misses an event in the prelims session, he/she is barred from all further individual and relay events of that day.
  • If a swimmer misses an event in the finals, he/she is barred from further competition for the remainder of the meet.

My child is only eight and has never swam a State meet. Will I be able to walk him out on deck to find his coach?

No. Indiana Swimming and USA Swimming insurance rules state that no parents are allowed on deck. If your child needs help finding his coach, one of our yellow shirted marshals will be able to help them find his coach.

My child is swimming a distance event. Do I have to provide a timer and a lap counter?

Donner Swim Club will provide timers for all distance events. The swimmer must find his own lap counter. If the lap counter does not have deck access via his coach card or athete status, he will not be allowed on deck until 15 minutes prior to the start of the event. This person must sign in and out with the marshal at the entrance to the deck.

Where are the sign-in sheets?

There are no sign-in sheets at this meet. In all individual events, a swimmer is assumed to be swimming unless he/she has scratched.

Is there a camp area for the swimmers?

The swimmers may camp "on deck" in the grassy area inside the fence. They may also camp immediately outside the fence so that they can hear the calls for events. At the first session the swimmer attends, he will receive a meet bag tag from their coach. The swimmer must present this tag to gain entry on deck for the entire weekend. These bag tags will be in "goodie" bags given to each swimmer. As parents, be sure that you get this "goodie" bag as we have several coupons to local restaurants in it!

Will food concessions be available?

Donner Swim Club will provide lots of good food and drink for all sessions from the pool's concession stand. We will also have Ritter's Custard and hot dogs. Columbus PAAL will provide slushies and bottled drinks.

Where is the lost and found?

The lost and found is located near the locker rooms.

Who are the vendors?

  • Kast-A-Way will be available to purchase any new (or forgotten) swim gear.
  • Tony London will have State shirts.
  • Advanced Engraving will be available to engrave medals.
  • My ID Bag Tag will have a number of cool tags for your swim bags.
  • Time Piece Photography will be available to take pictures of your swimmer during his event or awards ceremony.
  • The Columbus Visitor's Center will be available to answer all your questions and let you know of events occuring in Columbus on State weekend.

Where will results be posted?
